Our client is looking for an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to join their growing team at their Dover plant. The ideal candidate will be a demonstrated professional with a passion for change and relentless focus on execution!

Our Client’s passionate commitment to EHS provides the successful candidate with an excellent environment in which to work and the leadership commitment and support to deliver results. This position is a key member of the location’s leadership team and is a highly visible position in the plants Business Unit.

Role and Responsibilities

Essential Job Function:

The primary role of this position will be to drive and support safety and fatality prevention activities across the plant. Further responsibilities are:
• Coaches and mentor’s departmental leadership in the execution of their EHS accountabilities. Provides oversight of locations EHS processes and coaching of location SPAs. 
• Participates in and guides new equipment design discussions and start up reviews.
• Analyses data and reports necessary for corrective / preventive actions and gaps.
• Assists with development and implementation of EHS policy and procedures of and the business unit with focus on prevention, risk reduction.
• Take appropriate action to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, the location’s EHS policy and Standards. 
• Develops and conducts EHS-related training sessions.
• Participates actively in investigation of EHS incidents.

Requirements and experiences

Preferred Qualifications:
• BS degree in a safety-related discipline.
• Knowledge of applicable Federal and State EHS related regulations and procedures.
• Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving and human relations skills.
• Ability to make difficult decisions with sometimes and incomplete set of data.

Critical skills include:
Execution, attention to detail, initiative, conflict resolution, customer focus, collaboration, building ownership and commitment, developing others, establishing and direction, drive for change, tenacity, getting organization support and tenacity.
